RCIA, or the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, is the process through which students learn about Catholic faith and life. It is the process where non-Catholic students explore Catholicism, ask questions, and journey in faith with other members of the Newman community. The process incorporates instructions on Catholic teachings, faith sharing, sponsorship and support from members of the Newman Community, and an invitation to relationship with our loving God through His Son, Jesus Christ, and members of this community of faith. Students who participate in the entire year-long process are fully initiated into the Church, celebrate Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation with the entire Newman Community, and are called to become active participants in the Church’s life and mission. It is an exciting and wonderful ministry at Newman!
