Your Support Changes Lives

For the past 100 years, the Catholic Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech has expanded upon the University’s moto, Ut Prosim (That I may serve), by revealing the role of our Master, Ut Deus Prosim (That I may serve God). Year-after-year the ministry sees an increasing student parish. Together we have a responsibility to minister to the spiritual, social, and formation needs of college students while providing a welcoming home-away-from home.

Other Ways to Give

Legacy planning is an act of making a commitment to give a major gift during your lifetime or posthumously. To ensure that your values, beliefs, and commitment to Catholic Hokies continue, one can secure charitable giving through a will that outlines your desires. Examples of planned giving include Bequests, Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, or Scholarships.

Speak with your employer about making a gift to the Catholic Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech. Check your match eligibility and submit a match request providing the ministry’s EIN: 54-0505947.

Our EIN is the same as that of the Richmond Diocese. You will have to specify, Catholic Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech, Newman Community to funnel the gift to our office.

A gift of appreciated stocks or securities benefits both the giver and the CCM@VT, because the giver doesn’t have to pay capital gains taxes, and as a tax-exempt entity, the CCM@VT doesn’t either. The giver may also be able to deduct the amount the stock was worth from their taxes. The CCM@VT is set up to receive a gift of stocks after they pass through the Diocese of Richmond. To provide a gift, request the CCM@VT’s IRS tax-exempt verification documents and provide them to your financial advisor.

Mass intentions can be arranged for deceased family members or living intentions by directly emailing the Chaplain, Fr. Tom, at [email protected]. Collective or multiple Mass intentions are available at daily and Sunday Masses.

As a community, we pray for the health, safety, and spiritual growth of our CCM students and our greater Virginia Tech community. In addition, we pray for our staff, volunteers, and generous benefactors who support us in our mission.

All are welcome to add a special intention. Click the prayer icon and complete the form. Intentions will be prayed for by our chaplain at the Thursday evening Mass.
